Tags are keywords you can use to describe Posts on Toubooru. This allows people to easily search for their given criteria and find images with what they want much faster. Note that when attaching tags to posts, you should use the following guidelines:

Replace spaces in tags with underscores
Toubooru will treat every word separated with a space as separate tags. If you put Marisa Kirisame under the tag field, Toubooru would add both words as different tags. To tag it properly, you add Marisa_Kirisame.

Keep redundancy low
Try not to include tags that always mean the same thing, such as putting down yin_yang_orbs together with yin_yang. Aliases exist for this reason, to replace redundant tags with the standard. Oh, and including the tag touhou is very redundant.

Be descriptive
Are the characters in the picture all blonde? Use blonde_hair. Is it a scene from PCB? Use Perfect_Cherry_Blossom. Is it a hoax screenshot of a Touhou game you wished were real? Use screenshot hoax as the tags. The more descriptive your tags are, the easier it will be to find and the more hits it will get.

Change the tags of images with the tag "tagme"
If you're unsure about what to tag an image before you upload it, just simply leave it as tagme. If you do this though, remember to keep an eye out for other images with the tagme tag and if you can, tag them with the appropriate tags.
